East Mooring Basin Dock Replacement Project Advances
For years, the East Mooring Basin has been a hub for local fishermen and visiting boaters, and its aging boarding docks are now set for a much‑needed upgrade.
In August 2025 the Port was awarded $234,242.00 through the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, with funding administered by the Oregon State Marine Board. With funding now secured, the Port issued an invitation to bid in December, for the fabrication and delivery of nine docks. Three responses were received, with the lowest bid received from Topper Industries LLC, a company based out of Woodland, Washington.
On January 6, 2026, the Commission approved the award of the contract to Topper Industries LLC for $295,751.03. The new docks are scheduled to arrive in August. The installation will be done by the Port’s own maintenance crew during the in-water work window beginning November 1st, when conditions allow safe progress with minimal environmental impact.
The improvements at the East Mooring Basin will help ensure that this vital waterfront continues to support our community, local economy, and recreational access for many years to come.
