Cruise Ambassadors are the first friendly faces you’ll meet as you step off the ship at the Port of Astoria. At the Information Center, ambassadors greet passengers, offer walking maps of downtown Astoria, provide tips on local sites, and answer any questions. Think of them as your local guides—ready to help you make the most of your time ashore. Ambassadors are easy to spot in their blue apparel.

Exploring Astoria on Foot

Exploring Astoria on Foot Downtown is approximately a 1 1/2-mile walkable distance from the Port of Astoria. The Riverwalk takes you along the Columbia River, where there are many photo opportunities. The city is rich in history, culture, and charm, and there’s plenty to discover without ever needing a bus ride. Ambassadors are happy to point you toward the highlights, whether you’re interested in museums, shopping, or simply soaking up the waterfront views.

You won’t just find ambassadors at the Port—they’re stationed at key spots throughout Astoria to make sure you feel welcome and supported during your visit:

• 10th & Commercial Street – Right in the heart of downtown, ready to guide you to shops, cafés, and historic sites.
• Columbia River Maritime Museum – Offering tips on exhibits and nearby attractions along the waterfront.
• On the Riverwalk at the Port of Astoria – Greeting passengers as they begin their stroll along the scenic path.
• On the Riverwalk at 3rd Street – Helping visitors navigate toward downtown and pointing out highlights along the way.
