Airport Industrial Park
For nearly 25 years, a portion of the Port’s property at the Astoria Regional Airport has been designated for future industrial development. With the completion and approval of the Airport Master Plan, this vision is now moving toward reality through the development of the Airport Industrial Park.
Situated more than a thousand feet from the airside apron, the project’s goal is to develop approximately 26 acres of land into a six-lot industrial park, creating opportunities for long-term ground leases that will generate sustainable revenue for airport operations, maintenance, grant matching, and capital improvements.
Development of the Airport Industrial Park supports one of the Port’s strategic plan goals: to create employment opportunities and foster economic development within Clatsop County.
Project Progress
Following the approval of the Airport Master Plan, the Port issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for engineering services related to the industrial park’s development in April 2025. On June 17, 2025, Port staff presented a recommendation to award the project to PBS Engineering and Apex. The design and engineering work will take place in two phases:
- Phase 1 – Conceptual planning and pre-design work (expected to be completed in late 2025).
- Phase 2 – Final design and engineering required for construction.
The proposed development includes two 10,000-square-foot industrial buildings. The selected site minimizes wetlands impacts and avoids the need for pile work. The project is partially funded by Clatsop County development funds, with the Port currently working to secure additional funding to advance Phase 2.
As the Port continues to pursue funding for Phase 2, the Airport Industrial Park represents an important step toward long-term growth and development that will create new opportunities for local industry and provide a foundation for future infrastructure improvements at the Astoria Regional Airport.
