Invitation to Quote - Pier 2 Warehouse Fire System Upgrades
The Port of Astoria is seeking qualified vendors to deliver a critical fire protection upgrade at Pier 2’s Building 65 warehouse. This project involves reconfiguring the existing fire sprinkler system to provide Building 65 with a dedicated dry pipe riser, ensuring independence from the adjacent Building 75. The scope includes upgrading a current riser with associated valves, switches, and air compressor, utilizing existing abandoned supply piping, and rerouting feeds to create separate loops for each building.
Interested contractors will need to provide design, engineering and installation of the upgraded riser system. The new riser system will need to be compatible with the current fire protection systems already in place.
The design will need to be based on NFPA 13 standards. Work will be performed during normal business hours. Vendors should note exclusions such as electrical wiring, fire alarm panels and monitoring may apply.
The project must meet NFPA 13 code requirements to be accepted by the Port. Contractors interested in bidding will need to meet state and local licensing requirements. NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) certifications will be required.
Interested contractors are invited to express interest and request project details by emailing bids@portofastoria.com. More information, including technical requirements and site conditions, will be provided upon request.
Deadline to express interest: February 12, 2026
