Scott McClaine was sworn in as Port of Astoria Commissioner, Position #3 in June 2019; he currently serves as the Assistant Secretary/Treasurer. He is the owner/operator of Clatsop Coin Shop in Downtown Astoria, originally established in 2009.
Scott's 28-year Coast Guard career allowed him to serve as an Independent Duty Health Services Technician during three deployments to Antarctica, one to the Arctic Ocean and several to Central America. He qualified as an Aviation Medevac Specialist and flew on missions out of Air Stations Astoria and Kodiak.
Scott holds an Associates of Arts degree from Kodiak College, part of University of Alaska Anchorage.
Scott, and his wife Helen, who reside in Astoria, have one adult daughter.
