Finance, HR & Business Services Manager

 

EDUCATION:  Melanie has her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the City University of Seattle. She is currently working towards her CPA license.

ROLE AT THE PORT:  Melanie is the Finance, Human Resources, & Business Services Manager for the Port of Astoria. Her accounting responsibilities include handling the annual budget and financial audit process, among other duties, and as Business Services Manager she is responsible for analyzing policies and procedures and looking for opportunities for improvement.

WORK HISTORY:  Melanie started working at the Port in early 2020. She has a background in tax preparation and accounting, as well as property management, operations management, bookkeeping, and payroll.

FAMILY:  Melanie lives in Astoria and is married with one son.

HOBBIES:  Melanie enjoys running, hiking, and camping, but living in the Northwest she is content most days to stay inside with a good book or a movie. She also enjoys cooking and going out to eat, or spending time with her husband at their favorite taproom, Bridge & Tunnel, in downtown Astoria.
